Junior and Senior Youth Groups

St Paul's United Church of Christ in Freeburg, IL has two Youth Fellowship groups. There is the Senior High group and the Junior Youth group. Both groups are intended to develop community where Christian ideas are the center, but fun is the goal. The Senior High group consists of any student presently enrolled in High School. This group does things from getting together to play games to going to work week to helping those in need. The group also does things that are just for fun such as an all night lock-in for New Year's Eve and bowling. All the activities are social, yet strive to create a totally Christian attitude where all teens are accepted and encouraged to become a part of the group. The Junior High group consists of students presently enrolled in grades six through eight. These students do many of the same things as the High School group, but on a smaller scale. They also have lock-ins and movie nights as well as do things to help the community. This group is designed as well to promote Christian attitudes and beliefs where all youth can be accepted and become a part of a group.

Both groups are open to anyone who would like to become involved and both are looking for youth as well as adults who feel they are still young at heart. It seems to be very important in this day and age for our youth to "belong" and the goal of our Youth Fellowship is to give them a place where just that can happen.

Come and check it out!

Sunday School Class

St. Paul’s Sunday School classes meet each Sunday at 9:00 A.M. for ages 3 through adult. Classes are held year-round. Rally Day in September begins the new school year, but we welcome anyone to come at anytime!

Mission projects are a part of our program as well. The children participate in One Great Hour of Sharing which supports relief efforts around the world. Gifts to the Freeburg Care Center is also one of our regular mission projects. Children bring toiletries and other comforts for the elderly at the center. We also sponsor a child living at the Hoyleton Children’s Home and participate in the CROP Walk in the Fall.

Other events of the year include the Children’s Christmas Program, Fishers of Men Month when we invite friends and neighbors to join us, Confirmation (8th grade), and Rally Day which begins the Sunday School year. Our Summer 2001 Sunday School will be focusing on Traveling with Jesus. Students will learn Bible stories as well as information about several different countries. Students will be learning how to say "God" in several different languages. Our Sunday school classrooms will be making crafts and singing songs from countries around the globe.

Vacation Bible School

2008 VBS is coming June 11-15, 2008!
Join in the adventure at SonCreek Junction!

St. Paul's UCC and St. Joe's Catholic Church invites all the children in Freeburg to join us at SonCreek Junction! "This Year's Vacation Bible School promises to be an adventure your children will never forget," said Co-Director Julie Weber of St. Paul's. "SonCreek is a western gold-mining town set in the 1800s. Here your children will have a rip-roaring time singing lively songs, watching humorous skits, creating western crafts and playing active games. But most importantly, they'll discover five golden nuggets of truth for growing as God's children. They'll learn to Start Up, Listen Up, Open Up, Look Up and Speak Up in the family of God. "Everything will draw to a joyful conclusion at the Closing Program on June 15th at 11:30 AM - a musical event that's fun for the whole family. "We're looking forward to this very special opportunity to share with the children and the parents in our neighborhood. We hope they all will join us at SonCreak Junction as we discover the adventure of living and growing in God's family." The SonCreek Vacation Bible School begins June 11th and continues through June 15th. Classes are held at St. Paul's UCC, Freeburg from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
